Big things are happening for a stronger Woo platform, and we want you to get a sneak peek. Introducing High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) — a database update that will unlock major improvements for you and your customers.

What is HPOS?

HPOS is a commerce-first approach to order management that will keep order tables within Woo itself, rather than using WordPress tables. This streamlined organization simplifies the data structure and frees up the platform to be faster than ever.

And we mean fast. Customers will see up to 1.5x faster checkout and 5x faster order creation — while you save time with up to 40x faster order lookup.

What do I need to do?

Right now, nothing. We're targeting August 2023 to make HPOS the default experience for new stores, but your existing store won't be affected and will continue to operate as usual.

It's available to you now if you'd like to explore the benefits, but keep in mind that in this early phase not all extensions are currently compatible. You'll be able to see which of your extensions are incompatible in your dashboard — we encourage you to reach out to your developer or follow our documentation for details.
