Clean Architecture was popularized by Robert C. Martin, also known as Uncle Bob. He introduced the concept in his book Clean Architecture where he built upon earlier design paradigms like Hexagonal Architecture and Onion Architecture.

Enhance the testability of components
Decouple business logic from external details
In simple terms, Clean Architecture organizes a software system into layers, each with a specific responsibility. Dependencies flow only in one direction: toward the core business logic. This structure helps keep the system modular, testable, and resilient to changes.

Essential tech questions. Significant geopolitical and economic shifts, as well as the breakneck pace of technological developments, suggest that the year ahead will be one of considerable change. The push to link tech investments with value creation will require tech officers to answer some critical questions, according to McKinsey senior partners Aamer Baig, Jeffrey Lewis, Klemens Hjartar, and Sven Blumberg. For instance: Is your company’s tech estate (including its data, tech platforms, operating model, and talent) ready to realize its high ambitions for AI?

Prioritizing people. If chief information officers (CIOs) want to get beyond both the excitement and frustration of implementing gen AI, they’ll need to focus on talent, McKinsey partners Anna Wiesinger and Suman Thareja suggest. Generating value from technology involves many organizational and operational changes, which means any tech or AI transformation is one that’s people driven—and that CIOs will need to address employees’ concerns about how gen AI could influence their jobs.
