The business impact of tariffs and changing trade dynamics remains a top concern for organizations across industries—and especially for large multinational companies (MNCs). The leaders of global organizations are seeking to both protect against disruptions and create value in today’s evolving business environment. This week, we look at a few ways that MNCs can navigate tariffs and global trade developments—and the challenges they present—to survive and thrive in an increasingly fragmenting world.

Target value and structure

More and more, the decisions that MNC leaders make will be informed by ten geopolitical issues that affect global business, including tariffs, import and export controls, and geopolitical conflicts. With those factors in mind, leaders can prepare for various scenarios by evaluating three fundamental elements: the value at stake for the MNC, the company’s governance structure, and its organizational structure. “One truth spans all scenarios: The MNC model will need to move beyond enabling growth and efficiency to also embedding the adaptability to capture opportunities and the resilience to withstand geopolitical shocks,” say McKinsey Global Managing Partner Bob Sternfels , Senior Partners Brooke Weddle , Cindy Levy , and Shubham Singhal , and their coauthors. They advise MNCs to test their strategic plans by examining the geopolitical value at stake, both company-wide and by business area, as well as their appetite for risk. With respect to governance, global companies can make their legal and capital structures more flexible to either pursue emerging opportunities or pull back from certain markets. They also can reorganize to centralize or even separate business units, functions, and shared services in response to geopolitical shifts.

That’s the share of US consumers who have changed their spending habits or expect to do so soon in response to tariff uncertainty, according to a recent McKinsey ConsumerWise survey. Of the changes they plan to make, consumers cited reducing spending on nonessential items, buying fewer items, or choosing lower-priced brands and products. In a separate survey, 56 percent of European consumers said they have altered their spending or planned to do so because of tariffs .

That’s McKinsey’s Cindy Levy, Dale Swartz, Matt Watters, Shubham Singhal, and their coauthors on the importance of tracking changes in governments’ regulation of investment flows into and out of their territories and industries. For leaders planning to make investments in foreign jurisdictions or with foreign funding, the authors suggest four actions to take: monitoring geopolitics shifts that may affect investment rules, focusing on strategic risk, assessing regulatory risk exposure, and understanding the implications of capital controls.

Becoming a CEO is always a demanding transition—and for David Gitlin of Carrier Global Corporation, global disruptions have amplified the challenge. In Gitlin’s first year leading the climate and energy solutions company, the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the world. “It forced me to mature faster as CEO, as it did our entire leadership team—it really put our maturation on steroids because we had no choice but to step up as a team,” he tells McKinsey’s Eric Kutcher in an episode of the Inside the Strategy Room podcast. “Everyone kind of forgot about their titles. It was just a group of leaders galvanizing around our people, our customers, and the company to try to get us through a really tough time.” Now, like other leaders, Gitlin is assessing the potential effects of tariffs and other government policy moves on Carrier’s many business lines and geographical units. “The key for us is controlling the controllables and purposely remaining quite cautious about spending and similar decisions,” he says.

REARRANGING ROUTES

Amid the ongoing uncertainty around US–China trade , companies are considering how they might rearrange trade of thousands of products, from T-shirts and fireworks to semiconductors and rare earth magnets. A new McKinsey Global Institute analysis establishes a “rearrangement ratio” to help leaders answer this question. McKinsey’s Olivia White , Chris Bradley , Michael Birshan , Sven Smit , and their coauthors note that rearrangement can take many forms, such as reducing purchases, replacing imported items with similar ones, or accelerating domestic production. The ratio finds, for example, that US firms would have more difficulty replacing consumer goods from China than they would its business input imports, and that Europe would play a key role in trade rearrangement as both an exporter and importer.

Seeking AI experts. As AI shakes up the US’s $1.2 trillion e-commerce sector, retailers and other businesses are bolstering their teams in response, The Information reports. Given the growing popularity of AI platforms, chatbots and automated AI assistants could eventually replace conventional retail platforms. While AI-powered shopping is still in an early stage, companies are already actively recruiting AI specialists and seasoned commerce professionals to navigate the evolving online landscape. Speedier marketing. More and more consumer brands are using AI to automate their marketing content, refine designs, and enhance the efficiency of campaigns, Consumer Goods Technology notes. One global cosmetics company is transforming its process for creating marketing content; the use of gen AI has already reduced its timeframes for concept creation from weeks to a matter of days. AI-powered branding is also shaping purchasing decisions and even driving impulse buys, per a March 2025 Adobe study that polled 1,000 US consumers. [Consumer Goods Technology]

A typical consumer-packaged-goods company could use automation to improve productivity by around 40% in its manufacturing function.

Winning through tech. Across industries, tech and automation are increasingly changing the way work gets done. How should consumer leaders reshape their functions, roles, and activities to stay ahead? For those who are still figuring it out, McKinsey Senior Partner Alexis Krivkovich and her coauthors suggest five actions their companies can take, starting with the development of an objective, granular fact base that helps leaders prioritize the use of gen AI and automation. Previous McKinsey research found that consumer-packaged-goods and retail companies that lead in digital and AI see three times greater total shareholder returns compared with their peers.

Enhanced efficiency. By 2030 and beyond, the roles, functions, and required skills and capabilities in leading consumer organizations will look far different than they do today. McKinsey’s new analysis—which forecasts the possibilities for automation across five consumer subsectors, more than 2,000 activities, and 800 roles—finds that by 2030, up to 35% of all current activities across consumer functions could be automated, boosting workers’ productivity in the process. WHY CALIBRATTION MATTERS?

INTRODUCTION AND OVERVIEW:

Within industry, piping is a system used to convey fluids (liquids and gases) from one location to another. The engineering discipline of piping design studies the efficient transport of fluid. Industrial process piping (and accompanying in-line components) can be manufactured from wood, glass, steel, aluminium, plastic, copper, and concrete.

Pumps have continued to grow in size, speed and energy level, revealing new problems that are being addressed by innovative materials, mechanical and hydraulic design approaches. Environmental pressures have increased, and these can and are being responded to by the creative attention of pump engineers and users. After all, the engineer is trained to solve problems, employing techniques that reflect knowledge of physical phenomena in the world around us.

Pumps have their fair share of engineering problems in industry.

The said problems could be classified into:-

- Problems which could be identified and solved immediately, with little or no financial implications or loss in production and a drop in quality levels;

- Problems which could be identified and cannot be solved immediately, with little or no knowledge of its implications;

- Problems which recur frequently and cannot be solved permanently etc;

Some of the reasons for these are due to:-

- Incompetent staff;

- A vast variety of equipment;

- Many moving (sliding, reciprocating, rotating) components etc.

This course is industry designed, to provide a broad understanding of the improvement methodology, concepts, and process. The methodology is presented with case studies and examples drawn from service, business process and manufacturing applications. The integration of manufacturing and maintenance is also addressed. With a heavy practice orientation, as much as a third of your time will be spent working through interactive practical exercises and assessments. This course is designed as an introduction to concepts and methodology.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

This training program is designed to provide an understanding of engineering related problems related to industry globally and a clear sense of what is required to effectively structure, establish measurements and solve problems. OVERVIEW

ESG has been gaining traction in the recent years due to need of organisation to implement sustainable business practices. The course will cover some core principles of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices.

In matters relating to International Trade, governments had advocated the need of professionals to build skillsets by learning ESG globally recognized frameworks. This can enhanced ability to integrate ESG into business as a value adding skill sets. This will attract responsible investment opportunities.

This course will cover understanding and applying essential disclosures in sustainability report which is part of compliance. ESG disclosures and sustainability report assurance is carried out in line with the requirements of the reporting and assurance standards – the standards or guidance that you adhere to when producing a ESG or sustainability report. The options available include the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TFCD) and the AA1000 AccountAbility Principles.

Who should attend: Business professionals, auditors, accountants, finance reporting in managerial, senior and junior executive level who are involved in providing inputs, data and insights who wish to know basics of disclosures of ESG relating to financial reporting relating to sustainability.

Testing system functionality is a crucial step in software development and engineering processes.

It ensures that a system or software application performs as expected, meets user requirements, and operates reliably.

How CQRS Works?

CQRS (Command Query Responsibility Segregation) separates write (Command) and read (Query) operations for better scalability and maintainability.

Here’s how it works:

1 - The client sends a command to update the system state. A Command Handler validates and executes logic using the Domain Model.

2 - Changes are saved in the Write Database and can also be saved to an Event Store. Events are emitted to update the Read Model asynchronously.

3 - The projections are stored in the Read Database. This database is eventually consistent with the Write Database.

4 - On the query side, the client sends a query to retrieve data.

5 - A Query Handler fetches data from the Read Database, which contains precomputed projections.

6 - Results are returned to the client without hitting the write model or the write database.

How MongoDB Works?

MongoDB is a popular NoSQL database designed for flexibility, scalability, and high performance. It stores data in a JSON-like format (BSON) and supports horizontal scaling through sharding and replication.

Here’s how it works:

Client application connects via a MongoDB Driver to perform read/write operations.
The Query Router (mongos) acts as a mediator, directing queries to the appropriate shard based on the data’s shard key.
Config servers store metadata and routing information. This helps query routers locate data across shards.
The data is distributed across multiple shards to support horizontal scaling.
Each shard is a replica set that consists of one primary node for handling writes and multiple secondary nodes for high availability and read scaling.
If a primary fails, a secondary is automatically elected to replace it and maintain availability.

Now for my small rant:

The 4th of July was yesterday, and it got me thinking about freedom… And how precious and valuable it is.

Yes, on macro level, personal freedom is soooo important.

But…. I want to talk about a few ‘other’ freedoms for a minute…

Financial Freedom!
Time Freedom!
Career Freedom!

I want these for you!

I am so blessed to have this kind of freedom in my life. And you might think, “Oh… You’re Russell Brunson, it’s easy for you to talk about financial freedom… Everything you do works…”

Well… let me just squash that right there and say… if that’s what you think, you’re dead wrong. I tell people all the time… I’ve probably built and tested more funnels than anyone on the planet!

BECAUSE… most of them failed (or didn’t amount to much)!!

Before ClickFunnels, I tried and tested, and hustled, and scrapped, and risked it all dozens and dozens of times!

Trust me… It wasn’t easy!!!

Money was tight… Self-doubt constantly creeping in… Late nights working…

But that’s what I’m trying to tell you!!

Freedom doesn’t come easy!!

But it’s worth fighting for! It’s worth working for! It’s worth giving everything you have (and then some) to get it!

Take it from someone that has gone through the worst of the worst, and is now looking back from the other side after finally breaking through…

Fighting for your financial freedom is worth it!

✅ Spend more time with your family…

✅ Go on vacations without worrying you can’t afford it…

✅ Don’t get stressed out on the holidays when bills are piling up…

✅ Have the nice house and car you deserve…

✅ Have the time to spend on hobbies you love…

All of this freedom comes AFTER you step into the dark and go for it! (dozens of times!)

Now… What I’m about to say will help you avoid the years of struggles I went through before learning this!

The freedom I’m talking about above comes when your offer is dialed in so well… That it does most of the heavy lifting for you.
